Aspiration vs. Inspiration

Seeking a candidate who merely inspires us is dangerous. It leaves us to susceptible to the emotional manipulations of a candidate with empty charisma or an aptitude for fear-mongering. It exploits the lack of a self-defined political persona, and in a democracy it leads to choices which have enduring consequences.
